Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

same sex domestic partnership

We are a male couple who plan to spend the rest of our lives together. Since it is not legal at this point for us to marry and have all the same benefits as a legally married man and woman, what do we need to do legally to insure that in the event that one of us dies or becomes seriously ill the other would have the same legal rights as a spouse would have.

Re: same sex domestic partnership

You will need to meet with an attoney to help you and your partner draft documents to protect your wishes. Because the state does not recognize your union, everything will need to be in appropriate documents. Thanks.
