temporary guadrianship

I am a 18 year old single parent going away from home to school. I want to give my parents temporary legal guardianship of my child. Do I need hire an attorney and go to court for this? I am the sole custodial parent.

why don't you simply give them a power of attorney rather than a court ordered temporary custody?
