Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Visitation of child

When I was divorced, I was granted ''standard'' every other weekend visitation with my child. The divorce papers state when the visitation is to start and stop, but does not say who will pick up and drop off the child. I have always picked up and dropped off the child (4 years since divorce was final). Currently, I live 45 minutes from my ex-wife's home. She is going to be moving approximately 30 minutes further away in a few weeks. I have asked her if she would start either meeting me half way, or split the pick-up and drop-off duties with me. She says she will not do either, that it is my responsibility. Do I have any rights?

Re: Visitation of child

Attorney Smith has the right idea.... but is suggesting the wrong approach.

You need to tile a PETITION to Modify, not a MOTION. The difference is very important. If you were to just file a Motion, any attorney with a brain would be able to beat you. My website has a great deal on domestic relations, including explaining how to get an Order changed. It's at jesbeard.com and the particular link is at jesbeard.com/4b.htm

You can file a motion seeking to clarify that issue. For more info, see www.gsmithlawfirm.com .
