Disciplinary action takin under Fmla

I have FMLA and on medication that makes me sleepy...I am being disciplined on failure to call in on time...I need to know if I am covered under a chronic condition and the medication is the cause for me to sleep if they can discipline me?

The FMLA typically only permits you to take leave, it does not excuse the failure to perform some function of your position. However, the Americans with Disabilities Act may provide some assistance to you. Under the ADA an employer is required to grant disabled employees a reasonable accommodation. This accommodation can take the form of job restructuring in some circumstances.
