Legal Question in Medical Leave in Tennessee

father-in-law lives w/ us

He lives w/ us and has liver cancer. I often have to take him to the doctor or even just care for him after a night of him falling down and being bruised and bleeding. Not getting any sleep myself I always make it into work but it is truly taking a toll on me and I would just like the stress relief of knowing I may could take off sometime that I truly needed. My husband and I both have used all of our vaca/sick time to care for him and run him back & forth to the doctor. My husband is the bread winner so if someone were to take of w/o pay it would need to be myself. Also are there papers that I need to get filled out and signed?

In part, it depends on whether or not your emoyer is covered by the FMLA and whether you are eligible. To get more information on this, you can visit my website, www.memphisemploymentlawyer.net.

If the FMLA applies, you should contact your company's HR department to get the required certification.
