FMLA rules for an employee
If a request for Family Medical Leave has been sent to an employer and the employer has not responded to your request, how do you determine if your leave status has been granted?
Is their a rule regarding when a company pays you for anytime on the books after one month later after you had requested paid time before starting FML without pay?
Can time paid be added to FML? For example 2 weeks of paid time was received, can the two weeks be added to FML?

1. Your employer must tell you whether it has granted or denied your request within a reasonable time of submitting the request.

3. Under the FMLA an employer must provide 12 weeks of unpaid leave for qualified employees with qualifying conditions. The employer, at its option, may require the employee to exhaust her vacation and sick time as part of the 12 weeks. In other words, the statute does not require the employer to give you 12 weeks in addition to other time off benefits it offers.
