How is surgery covered under the FMLA. I need a more detailed explanation on how surgery is treated under the FMLA.

It depends on the surgery, the time spent in hospital and the post-surgical requirements/treatment. Surgery could be viewed as a serious health condition which renders the employee incapable of performing the employee's job duties. In that case, the condition would be covered by the FMLA. However, before you reach that conclusion, more information is needed.
