Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Tennessee

Contractors Libility

I live in the city of ??? in Tennessee. The city of ??? hired a sub contractor to put in some new sewer lines in my community. The sub contractor failed to connect my sewer line to the new system. As a result my lines backed up causing some est. $ 2600. in damage to my property. The damages are a direct result of my sewer line not being connected. Once the problem was discovered the city of ??? immediately contacted a different sub contractor who came 2 days later and connected my line to the new sewer system. However, when I contacted the POC at the city of ??? sewer dept. about damages claim. He advised me that they didn't have a claim process. Also that it was not the city of ??? fault and that I would need to contact the orginal sub contractor about damages. I hope you can understand what I am saying this was written.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Re: Contractors Libility

The subcontractor, being an agent of the

city, would make the city liable if you can
