Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Tennessee

I have a legal question, I had gotten behind on my City and County land taxes (4years) At the same time I started dating this man and he went behind my back without my knowledge or permission and paid all of my taxes off with three cashiers checks from his bank account...Now he and I are not seeing each other anymore and he is harassing me, threatening me, he says he can take me to court and make me pay him this money back(????) CAN HE?

You position should be that the payment was a gift. A gift is given without an expectation of repayment.
