Property in someone else's possesion was sold
I moved in with my girlfriend and didn't have room in her apt. for all my stuff. She suggested we store it in a house that belonged to her and her ex husband (don't think the divorce was final at the time). No one was living there so I agreed. Shortly after we broke up and moved out she sold all of it. That's what she called and told my mom, anyway, after I left several voice mails. She won't answer my calls, so I can't get any information. She told her the house had been sold and she sold my stuff for money for her and her daughter because I didn't pay anything while I was there. I have bank statements and canceled checks showing I paid half rent and utilities and bought groceries. The items include a bed, dvd player, VCR, entertainment ctr., about 100 dvd's and vhs's, air purifier, and a few other items. Do I have a good case, and if so, is there a good chance I could get lawyers fees out of it?

It doesn't sound like you could get attorney's fees. However, you probably could go to small claims court for your claim. In Tennessee, it is called General Sessions.
