Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Tennessee
Is this slander-----
I didnt know what part of the law this was suppose to be in, but here is my problem, we bought something over the internet and paid through paypal, well the person sent me the wrong thing on purpose, I was told to put a post warning other people about this person, so they would know who they were buying from, and I put her name and the names that she goes by (which happen to be her childrens names) and I also told that one of her child was sick and that she uses that to get you to feel sorry for her, anyway she saved the post and everytime I say something about trying to get my money from her, she will tell me she is going toget me for slander, and then I later found out that the merchandise that she sent me she had stole it from someone else, so I am out of money and i have stolen merchandise, what do I do, I didnt bash this person or her children and I told the truth there was no lies, I even have an e-mail from her saying she uses her childrens names. Can you please tell me if this is slander or no, i have talked with my att. and he said being it was on the web it was totally different, that the web had a whole new set of rules for this kind of stuff.------Please answer my question------thanks

If what you have posted is true, it is not slander. Whether dealing with libel, slander, or any defamation claim, the statements (or written post) must be false
