Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Tennessee

Statute of Limitations on Civil Litigation

What is the statute of limitations on civil litigation when the family of a person killed in a traffic accident sues the driver of another vehicle in the State of Tennessee? Does it vary based on certain factors? I am not sure what area of the law this falls under (personal injury/tort, general civil, etc.) Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Statute of Limitations on Civil Litigation

The statute of limitations is generally one year from the date of the injury. This could be affected potentially by the age of the deceased or dependents of the deceased if anyone was under 18 at the time of injury. Our office is located in Franklin, and if you have any further questions, please let me know. Our office has extensive experience in this area, and I will happy to consult with you at no charge to you to determine the status of any potential claim. You should consult with an attorney experienced with this type of litigation to determine your status as soon as possible. Holland McKinnie, 615.790.2575, [email protected]
