Legal Question in Health Care Law in Tennessee
Charged and Treated for a Misdiagnosis
What legal recourse is available to me after being admitted to the emergency room for a urinary
tract infection that was causing backpain(I had come in a couple dys ago, this was the 2nd time), I was given a pelvic exam in which they did not say what it was for, and then given a shot in the hip, and a pill thinking it was fot the UTI. 3 days later when I called for the test results they had said I was positive for Gonarrhea! My husband and I went to another clinic and were tested showing us both to be negative for gonarrhea! This hospital insist that they are right, my husband and I are faithful and have never had any history of STD's. Please advise us. Thank You.

Re: Charged and Treated for a Misdiagnosis
The missed diagnosis appears rather obvious. What damages have you suffered outside of your medical expenses to correct the diagnosis? What was the outcome of the UTI? Did the initial provider treat the UTI? There are other specific questions an attorney needs to ask to provide competent advice. You should seek the direct, personal advice of an attorney if you are interested in pursuing a claim.
