hospital bill
if a hospital bill is turned over to creditors or collection agency, and you are making small payments, can they charge you intereset?

Interest is appropriate if the original debt entitled the owner to interest. Sometimes the credit agency is acting on behalf of the creditor, sometimes they have bought the debt at a discount, but in either case, the credit agency is usually entitled to everything the original creditor would have gotten. That means the debt plus interest. THe only exception would be if there was a statutory bar to such interest, but I've yet to hear of one.
