Legal Question in Immigration Law in Tennessee

Hi,

I currently hold a F1 OPT visa and a steady job. My OPT expires in July and I am planning to get married to a US citizen in September. What do you suggest is the best way to go about our paperwork? I want to do everything legally like I always have, but I don't really know what steps that entails right now. Thank you!!

Once your OPT expires, you have a 60 days grace period, as I'm sure you are well aware. You can prepare your paperwork & get your medical exam right before you are married, so that you can file your case once you are married & have your marriage certificate. For more information, please refer to: https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-through-family/green-card-immediate-relative-us-citizen, or you may want to consider hiring an Immigration Attorney to prepare & file your case. Good luck.
