Legal Question in Immigration Law in Tennessee
Ive married a Filipina that has come to the US on a K-1 visa, I understand I will need to sign an Affidavit of Support that requires me to be financially responsible for her for a number of years.
From my understanding the sponsor's affidavit of support obligations can terminate in several different ways. One of them being the immigrant claims 40 quarters of work credit. Usually this means that the immigrant has worked for the minimum period of 10 years. The immigrant can, however, also count work quarters earned by a spouse.
Q:If this is true, then can you please explain how she can count my works hours earned towards claiming her 40 quarters? I've been working all my adult life.
