Legal Question in Immigration Law in Tennessee

What do you do when work visa runs out ?

My question is simple. You arrive in this country from Russia , on a 6 month work visa. It runs out , and you stay in the United States.

You have a good job , and you take an american wife. How do you go about becoming legal in this country?

If you are legally married to a US citizen you can have your spouse file an I-130 relative visa petition along with an I-485 adjustment of status with all supporting documentation. You can also file an I-765 for work authorization at the same time if you so desire. The marriage to an American citizen will allow you to file a waiver if needed for the overstay as well as for being out of status and for any illegal employment. You probably should consult with an Immigration attorney to help you prepare your case for submission. Good luck.
