Legal Question in Insurance Law in Tennessee
Compensation Following Auto Accident
I was involved in an auto accident on July 3rd. The gentleman that caused the accident was given a citation and a police report was filed. I think they will end up and total my car, however I do not have insurance. We bought the car from my mother approximately a week ago and have not gotten insurance or tags yet. Will he still have to pay to fix my car even though I do not have insurance?

Re: Compensation Following Auto Accident
If the registration to the car is still in your mother's name, her insurance may still be in effect unless notice to cancel coverage has been given to her insurance company. If the other driver is at fault, he would be responsible for damage to the car regardless of whether your mother's insurance is still in effect or not.
