Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Tennessee
I am a graduate student currently working on coursework. I would like to post source code for programs I am writing as part of that coursework. I am the original author though I am using knowledge gotten from lectures (not source code). I would like to post selection of some of these programs on a personal blog. Some for educational and some as a portfolio of work I have completed. Is this illegal?

It sounds like what you want to do is either commentary or educational. Both are exceptions to copyright infringement. But, you should not rely on this objective opinion, and you should get a specific opinion from a lawyer who can fully review your issues.
