Trademark Tranfers
I have a logo of a now company that is no longer in business (doors closed before 1980) and would like to go about purchasing these of reprinting on promotial items. I have done some preliminary searchs, and they appear as ''dead'' or not at all in the online US goverment database. How would I go about the tranfer of rights on something like this?

Re: Trademark Tranfers
The fact that the trademark no longer appears in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office database does not necessarily mean that it has been abandoned by the previous owner.
You need to consult a trademark attorney to advise you on how to determine if you can use the mark.
I practice trademark law and teach trademark law to lawyers and law school students.
