Why can't a 16 year old minor be emancipated in the state of Tennessee?

A 16 year old CAN be emancipated in TN but it depends on the circumstances. The Judge has to decide if the 16 year-old is mature and responsible enough to be emancipated; usually that means having a full time job and a place of his own to live.
