Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Age discrimination

In November 2001, I was laid off from my job after 17 years. I was told the reason was that my position was being eliminated. I recently found out that the company hired another person younger than me in February 2002 for the same position. Would this be considered age discrimination? What would my legal recourse, if any, be? Thank you for your help.

Re: Age discrimination

You have the building blocks of an age discrimination case. They cannot fire you and hire a younger person, unless they have a non-discriminatory reason for firing you in the first place. Each case is different. Please contact me and I will evaluate your case for you. [email protected]; 800.403.7868.
