no compete clause

I live in Memphis Tn. and i work for a hvac company.they want me to sign a no compete clause that bars me from working in my field. after i leave the company. he stated that he would only enforce it if i tried to either get his employees or customers if i dont sign it he will take it as i quit what can i do about this

Before you sign the agreement, you should take it to a lawyer to understand your rights and how this will affect you.
