Is it legal for an employer to put spyware on an employee's individual computer and GPS tracking on company vehicles and company phones?

The question revolves around the central issue of privacy. Privacy issues are resolved by the question of whether or not you have a reasonable expectation of privacy in whatever area your privacy is being invaded.

When you are dealing with employer property (vehicle and phone), your expectation of privacy would be reduced and there would probably be no invasion. However, your own personal computer, you would probably have a greater expectation of privacy.

This area of the law is so fact intensive, you need to consult with an attorney to discuss what sorts of issues, rights and remedies with which you are confronted.
