Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee
Can my employer make me pay a customer's service bill ? I arranged for a customer to meet with a mechanic and an independent business transaction took place. When the work performed was unsatisfactory to the customer an attorney sent a letter on the customer's behalf threatening a law suit. My employer responded to this letter by accepting responsibility and the service department repaired the damages. Now my employer is making me pay the bill because I introduced the customer to the mechanic and brokered the transaction. Is this legal?

Not unless you have some form of written agreement with the employer which generally authorizes the employer to deduct money from your paycheck.
