independent contractor agreement

my agreement states that it can only be modified in writing and 60 days notice of the intent to terminate. i was terminated after 17 years without any of the above.

is my contract binding?

Without seeing the contract, no lawyer can give you a definte answer, but based on what you said in the email you could very well have an enforceable contract. You may also have other claims based on Tennessee and Federal law. You should consult an employment law attorney and show the attorney the contract and share all facts for a firm opinion.
