Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Lunch period

Assigned lunch hour is 11 to 12pm.

I am an exempt employee.

Manager says if anything comes up and for any reason I leave late for lunch then I am working on my own time and still must return from lunch at noon.

Is this Legal?

Corporate Policy reads, ''Personnel will take a one hour (60 minute) lunch period. The lunch time should be taken between the hours of 11:30 and 1:30pm. The employees supervisor must approve a variation in lunch periods of time.''

Re: Lunch period

If you are truely exempt you may not have any recourse. You should examine whether or not you are truely exempt. Take a look at my overtime website for more information. www.overtimepaylaw.com
