Not Paid for overtime hours at trade show
Three times this past year, I have worked a trade show for my company. I am an hourly nonexempt employee. For these shows I and another hourly employee were paid 8 hours per day. We worked anywhere from 12 to 15. We also were paid only 8 hours for travel days that lasted 14-16 hours. We were given $20 a day for food and expenses, even though a manager purchased at least one meal a day for us. We were told This money should ''make-up'' for missed overtime and not to complain or we would not be allowed to go, which would negatively affect our hours. The $20 doesn't come close to the amount we would have made if paid for all hours worked. Is this legal? If not, how do we get our pay?

It would appear that you are due overtime compensation for the time you worked in excess of 40 hours per week.
