quitting employment

i turned my 2 weeks notice in and quit my job on the day after my notice was up. i have 22 vaction days and 10 sick days. does my employer have to pay those to me ?? thanks for your time

You have posed one of the more confusing (for lawyer) questions in Tennessee employment law. The answer will generally be that you are entitled to be paid your accrued paid time off (sick and vacation time), but only if the employer has not publicly (in a handbook) stated that such time is lost. It is almost the only time in Tennessee law that the employee handbook carries much weight.
