Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Railroaded or what???

I have a close relative that just got fired after 6 years of employment, she was lied upon by fellow employees concerning an incident with another employee she got fired the other employee didn't,she was told that her past record is why,but she had a great work record she just didn't get along with some of her co-workers-- was she the only one that should have got fired?!! Now the personal mgr.said if she didn't do certain things and just let it go she would let her draw her un-employment!!!??? Is this discrimination?

Re: Railroaded or what???

From your description, the answer is probably not. The law generally prohibits discrimination based on race, sex, age, religion, color, national origin and disability. Unless your relative was treated differently than someone of another group, there is probably no claim for employment discrimination.

As with all issues related to one's employment, it would probably be worthwhile to have your relative speak with an attorney.
