Relocation question.

I was relocate as a result of a plant closing by my present employer. My present employer offered little choice; either I moved or I quit. I moved, accepting the relocation package. I now have been offerd an opportunity with another company. What is the likelyhood or realistic chance my present employer will pursue the payback of the relocation package?

Re: Relocation question.

Depending on the details of your circumstance, the nature of your position and the entity to whom you are going to work, it may be very realistic. If you have some type of agreement with the employer, there may be little way to avoid the negative consequences of that agreement.

In this situation, I would recommend that you gather together your documents related to this transaction and consult with an attorney on this issue. If you would like to consult with us, you can reach us at [email protected] or (901) 683-1850.
