Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

salaried employee problems

My husband is a salaried bus driver for a country music artist and has been for almost 3 years. The artist just signed a new bus lease with a company and when the bus is not in use for this artist it will be leased out to other artists and my husband will have to drive the bus for no more pay. The management of this artist made this deal to save money on the lease of the bus. The bus company still gets paid a driver fee from the other artists. The one losing out is my husband. He is not employed by the bus company, but the artist. They also told him that if he ''ruffled any feathers'' about it, or disagreed with it, he would be fired. Can they change the terms of his employment like this without his consent? It just doesn't seem right. Thank you

Re: salaried employee problems

Is there any written agreement or memorandum regarding the work performed? If there is, the question asked will be governed by the written agreement. If there is none, then the agreement is likely "at will," which means either party can alter terms or terminate at will. If there is an agreement, you should have it reviewed by an attorney on that issue. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me.
