Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Subponaed personal files for hearing denied.

I am having an unemployment hearing to prove that I left my employment with good cause. That good cause was an ongoing hostile work environment that culminated recently with a drastic drop on my Employee Evaluation and the denial of a raise and other benefits for only me. I finally left but I now need to subponae personal documents to prove the ongoing discrimination they had against only me. The Unemployment Appeals Board has denied my request for the subponaed documents saying they are personal records and are therefore not available to me. What can I do?

Re: Subponaed personal files for hearing denied.

There are many facts missing from your post. Were you employed by a government or private employer? Did you have an employment contract? Do you mean "personal" records or "personnel" records? I would be happy to help you but need to

know more facts about your situation. There should be no reason you cannot obtain review of your own personnel records.
