Termination of Employment

Can a employer terminate without legally giving any

notice of violation to a employee.If they have open

door policies in place and ask for questions do they

have a right to terminate you for asking questions and

then use insorbination as the reason for terminating

you.

Generally the answer to your question is that an employer can fire you for any reason, even just asking questions. A corollary to this is that the employer need not give you any reason for the termination. The exceptions to this are that the employer cannot terminate you refusing to engage in or remain silent about illegal activity. Similarly, an employer cannot terminate your employment for a discriminatory reason based upon your membership in a protected category.
