Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Termination Separation Agreement

I am 51 years old. I was terminated after 12 years and I signed the separation agreement and accepted the check for 6 weeks pay. My position was replaced with someone 30 years old, 20 years my junior. Because I signed the agreement of separation, does that mean I have no recourse?

Re: Termination Separation Agreement

It is very probable that you signed a release as part of your separation agreement. Under the Older Worker's Benefit Protection Act, however, this release had to have a 7 day revocation period. If the 7 days haven't lapsed, you may still be able to revoke the release.

You need to consult with an attorney to have that attorney review your separation agreement and advise you as to the best course to pursue.
