Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Tuitiion

I signed a contract with my current employer for tuition costs and in return I am supposed to work for them for three years after graduation or after the last class that they paid for. There is a good chance that I could be laid off. If I am laid off am I still obligated by the contract? Also, I feel that they are in breech of the contract. It states that they will pay for similar courses. The last course that they paid for was a junior level course but they paid they rate at a community college level and not a upper division class. Is this a breech of the contract? The contract states that if I leave for other employment I will have to pay them back, but am I employed if I am laid off?

Without reviewing the contract it is impossible to answer your questions. I would recommend that you get the contract together and contact an attorney to discuss this matter in detail.
