Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Water availability at the workplace

I work in a very busy doctor's office which allows no time for ''breaks''. No food or drink is allowed at the nurses station. A water fountain is not available. Can I be denied a recapable bottle of drinking water at my work station?

Re: Water availability at the workplace

You may be entitled to not only keep water at your workstation, but also to take a "break" during the day. There are several unanswered questions from your posting, including the nature of your work and whether you get a lunch break. I would recommend that you consult with an attorney who practices extensively in the field of employment law. Your situation is governed by Tennessee state law and the statutes dealing with hours of work, pay and breaks may provide you some relief.
