Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Wrongful termination

I have a dispute with the corporation that I used to be employed with, being that I beleive I was wrongfully terminated. 1 year ago I was formally nationaly recognized as one of the top retail manager in the country(who's who of Business). Numerous times I was recognized by the corporation I was employed by as the top retail manager in the region. Then a new district manager was assigned to my district and she continually singled me out from the other managers as inept and incopotent for the mistakes she was making or letting the other manager get away with, I received one formal warning in my two years of employment under the affor mentioned district manager, then I was terminated 2weeks later for a minor infraction that other managers are encouraged to make. I am the only black manager in the district and my husband is white, another manager with the corporation was verbally reprimanded for hugging a black male in her store and told her that kind of thing is frowned upon here in the south and told not to let it happen again, by the same district manger that fired me, two of the current manager are witness and willing to come forward with this information to assist me and numerous ex-employees.

Re: Wrongful termination

You may well have been the victim of unlawful discrimination. A couple of the footprints you look for in any case of employment discrimination is the changing of management, a consistent record of good performance, then write-ups for seemingly minor infractions and some further adverse employment action. I would recommend that you meet with an attorney to discuss your situation in more detail to fully determine whether or not you have a claim that is worth pursuing. I handle cases of this nature and would be happy to consult with you if you want to call James Becker at 901-527-5522.
