Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee
Still looking for help!
I wrote before about a company firing me 2 weeks after I came off of workmans comp. I was in a non perventable accident, they just seem to have it out for me. I been employed there over 18 months. They said they fired me over not enough miles, when I ran and was paid by them for over 7000 miles in 2 weeks. Since then they lied to the review officer at the unemployment office. They said I didn't run but 2000, so they approved my unemployment benefits. I have my terminations papers stating I was fired. Since then I found good employment elsewhere, they asked my previous employer my perforence. They faxed a paper stated I was a excellent employee and I voluntary quit. Same person signed my termination paper and lied to the employment office. I ahve a large family and always supportted them. I feel they wronged me and my family suffered over my accident. Does any of this sound funny to anyone else. I'm not a vengeful person, but this seems to be wrong. Do I have anything here? Thank-you

Re: Still looking for help!
An employer cannot fire you for filing a worker's compensation claim. If they did they will be liable. If you have found a new job, that may reduce the amount of money you can recover from your old employer.
