Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Tennessee
Eviction Notice
I have filed an eviction notice against my renters, we are going to court on January 23 to have our case heard. My question is; do the renters have any right to my house since they have not paid any rent since August of 2005. The first week of Dec. 2005 they spent some of the rent money on a trailer that they are fixing up but they keep pushing back the date that they will vacate the house. So it is not like they do not have any where to go. Thanks for any information that you can provide.

Re: Eviction Notice
THE TENANTS HAVE NO RIGHT TO POSSESSION OF THE PROPERTY. YOU SHOULD ASK THE CIOURT TO GRANT YOU A JUDGMENT FOR ALL THE BACK RENT THEY OWE YOU AND FOR POSSESSION OF THE PROPERTY WITHIN 10 DAYS. IF THEY DON'T LEAVE IN 10 DAYS, CALL THE SHERIFF AND THEY WILL THROW THEM OUT.
