Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Tennessee

Lease problem

Recently new landlords have taken over my appartment complex.

They state that they have taken my old lease out of courtesy. My lease stated that I had 1 month to pay rent, where there new lease stated I had 10 days.

After 10 days my apartment was leased to someone else and I was evicted.

Is this legal? Can new landlords take an old lease and choose to honor certain parts?

No, unless your written lease provides for something different, they must honor the lease through the end of its term.
