More than likely, your first challenge will not be when you "go to court for the first day." Assuming you have named the right parties and properly served everyone, you will probably get a dispositive motion of some sort seeking to have your complaint dismissed. My suggestion is that you contact an attorney who is familiar with medical malpractice cases so that you will know for certain that you have properly filed the complaint and so you will be prepared for every aspect of your case. There are a lot of issues that you will need to be familiar with, such as the Civil Procedure issues, the Medical Malpractice statutes and the Wrongful Death statutes.
