Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee
auto accident involving injuries
I was involved in an auto accident on April 6, 1998. I was making a left turn under a yellow light when I was struck on the passenger side of my Toyota Corolla by a Suburban. The woman driving the vehicle was given a ticket on the scene and was told by the police officer that her insurance company would be responsible for repairing my car. I was told by her insurance company that they would pay for the cost of a rental car for me so that I would have transportation to and from work. I am now being told by her insurance company that the accident was my fault. They are saying that I should not have assumed she was stopping just because she was breaking. I am currently paying for my rental car myself. I also paid for medical bills from injuries suffered in the accident. I am wondering if the woman's ins. co. is just trying to blow me off or if I should try to fight them. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
