Cancelled Insurance

I had an accident on the 14th of July and it was determined my fault. To my knowledge I had insurance untill the 11th of August. When my spouse goes to make the claim the insurance let her know that the policy had cancelled on the 7th of July. Is this legal to cancel me if I have paid for service that was not provided untill due date? what can I do about the insurance that I thought I had to cover the other person?

Send me a copy of the cancellation letters. Ask the insurance company to send you a copy of every letter they sent saying they were going to cancel. Also, can you send me a copy of your original declarations page. My contact information is at hhpfirm.com
