Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee

My daughter was a passenger in a rental car driven by a friend. She got out of the car because they were almost completely out of gas and she wanted to get a better view to look for a station. She was standing in the edge of the median when she was ran over. The person has no assets, no job and has a judgement against him already for a traffic accident. He had the minimum insurance coverage ($10,000). My daughter was only 29 years old and was a single parent of two young sons. Would the rental insurance the friend took out on the rental cover my daughter being run over even though she had gotten out of the car?

The answer to your question is "maybe." What I think you seriously need to consider doing is to talk to an experienced personal injury lawyer who handles catastrophic injuryies like this. Firms such as ours generally know what liability insurance and uninsured/underinsured motorist insurance to look for.

By the way, please don't forget that there are very strict filing deadlines associated with a case such as this as there are with all cases.

We are so so sorry for your loss.
