i have $35000 in bills and i was paid $1000 by their insurance.

i have been attacked by this dog on another visit and

prior to that, the dog got off his chain and attacked me in my own yard.

Re: dog attack

When did the accident occur? Have you already accepted $1,000.00 from the insurance company? If so, you may have settled your case alrady.

Re: dog attack

If the dog had violent propensities, I believe you have a good case. Big question is whether the dog's owner has adequate insurance to compensate you. I would be interested in helping you with this.

Re: dog attack

They very well be liable. As indicated, make sure you have not signed a release. Your facts indicate a dog that has a tendency to bite.

While Tennessee does not have a "dog bite statute" the owner of a dog is still liable under general negligence theories of law. The statute of limitations in Tennessee for such claims is one (1) year from the date of the attack.
