Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee

Emotional abuse at work place

Are there any laws to protect nurses from abusive, degrading remarks made by doctors in reference to nurses? The doctor that I am referring to has lost his rights to practice at a large hosp until he takes ''anger management'' classes. He provides so much revenue for the small hospital where I work, that management is unwilling to take any kind of action against him. If I were to talk to my patients the way he talks to me and all the other nurses, not only would I lose my job and license, I would rightfully be sued.

Depending on the what he says to you there are a number of options. You may have an harrassment claim or one for intensional infliction of emotional distress. There are others, but those seem the most likely.
