Re: limitation
Generally, the answer to your question is 1 year. However there are some important exceptions. For example, if the injured party was a minor, if the negligence was not discovered right away, or if the injured party was mentally incompetent at the time of the accident, the statute of limitations can be different. It is even possible for the deadline to be shorter than one year as in cases involving slander.
Accordingly, as with most legal questions, a lawyer needs to know all the facts before he or she can give a definitive answer.

Re: limitation
In Tennessee, most injury claims must be filed within one (1) year of the injury. It is important to consult with an experienced attorney shortly after the accident to identify what evidence needs to be preserved for later use. We can send you a list of things to do if you have have been injuried in an accident. Let me know if you want this list.
We can help you evaluate the factors involved in your accident such as fault, damages and collectibility.

Re: limitation
In Tennessee, the statute of limitations for personal injuries from an accident is generally one year.
Re: limitation
The normal statute of limitations for personal injury claims in Tennessee is one year from the date of the accident. However, the one year time limitation begins running on the date of the accident so that the one year lapses on the day before the one year anniversary of the accident.
