Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee
Municipality's and ''on the job injury''
I was injured on the job and I work for a municipality. They do not participate in workmans comp. They have there own policyand it is very grim.I may lose my job as a result of my injury. My immediate supervisor wrote and signed a letter that accuses my forman of putting me in an unnessary risk of danger.Would this take away the immunity of the municipality so that I could sue? The only training I have is in skilled labor in which I now can not do. My injury was a ruptured disk and I had to have it removed' I also bulged another disk. Thanks, ''HELP''!!!!

Re: Municipality's and ''on the job injury''
If your city employs more than 5 persons, you are covered by the Tennessee Worker Comp statute. There is no governmental immunity if the injury would otherwise be covered under Workers Comp. Has your employer sent you to a doctor for your back surgery? You should consult with a Tennessee attorney experienced in Workers Comp to evaluate your case as soon as possible.
