Legal Question in Personal Injury in Tennessee

Rear- ended

I was rear ended and my car was totaled. The other man's insurance paid for my car but we have not settled on medical. I was having neck pain and back pain and went 2 weeks later to the ER for a CT. The lumbar was fine but the cervcical CT showed possible spasms with a reversal of the neck curvature. I have had intemittent pain since that time. The insurance company only wnat sot settle for 1062.00 which is the exact amount of the bills. Can I ask for more? I asked for 2500.00 and they declined. If I have to get an MRI it will cost a total of 4500.00 and massage thereapy as the ER doctor requested is 60.00 an hr/30.00 for a half hour. So I think that 2500.00 was a fair amount to ask. My questionis how much can you ask for and how injured do you have to be for pain and suffering. I'm not disabled by any means but I am a transcriptionist/Office Manager and my neck is killing me now and it did not before. I'm using heat and taking Tylonaol PM to help me sleep. I did take muscle relaxers for 6 days and the ER doc offered pain meds. What should I do?
